Turkey Invoice Template (Fatura): Field Reference
This is a reference layout of the details a Turkish invoice (fatura) carries: the date and number, the issuer's name or trade name, business address, tax office (vergi dairesi) and tax ID (VKN), the customer's name and tax details, the type, quantity, price and amount of the goods or services, the tax type, rate and amount (KDV), and for goods the delivery date and dispatch note (irsaliye) number. For a taxpayer in Turkey it cannot be the invoice itself. Under General Communiqué No. 509 on the Tax Procedure Law, as amended on 31 December 2025, invoices between two registered e-Fatura users must be e-Fatura, and since 1 January 2026 taxpayers outside the e-Arşiv system must issue every other invoice as an e-Arşiv Fatura, whatever the amount, through the Revenue Administration's (GİB) e-document portal or an authorised special integrator. For businesses taxed on the simple method or keeping business-account books, the same rule applies from 1 January 2027, and until then to invoices above TL 3,000 including taxes. A paper or PDF invoice issued instead can be penalised for each document. Use this HTML layout as a checklist before you enter the invoice in the GİB portal or your e-document software.

- Download the template. It opens as an editable HTML file in your browser.
- Replace each bracketed field with your details. Totals are not calculated for you, so check the arithmetic.
- Print it or save it as a PDF from your browser. InvoiceQuickly does not create or store this document type.
Recommended Payment Terms
Agree the payment date (vade) with your customer and show it with your IBAN in Turkish lira, in your e-Fatura or e-Arşiv software's notes or payment fields. If you plan to charge late-payment interest, check the current statutory terms with your adviser before adding a clause.
Tax Information
Turkey's general KDV (VAT) rate is 20%, and its main reduced rate is 10%, both since 10 July 2023 under Presidential Decision No. 7346. Some goods and services fall under other rates or exemptions set by decision under article 28 of the KDV Law, so check the rate for your supply. Each e-invoice states the tax type, rate and amount. InvoiceQuickly cannot issue Turkish invoices: it has no e-Fatura or e-Arşiv output, no GİB portal or special-integrator connection, copies saved tax IDs to new invoice PDFs and applies one tax rate per invoice.
Industry context (2026)
GİB's consolidated General Communiqué No. 509 on the Tax Procedure Law, updated by Communiqué No. 589 (Official Gazette, 31 December 2025), removed the remaining amount threshold for e-Arşiv invoices from 1 January 2026 for most taxpayers and set 1 January 2027 for simple-method and business-account taxpayers. A paper invoice issued where an e-Arşiv invoice was required is penalised under article 353 of the Tax Procedure Law for each document (ebelge.gib.gov.tr, accessed 27 October 2026).
Worked example
Ege Yazılım Ltd. Şti., an İzmir software consultancy registered for e-Fatura, invoices Anadolu Market A.Ş. in Ankara, also a registered e-Fatura user, for 40 hours of consulting at TL 1,500 in October 2026 (an illustrative example). Net amount TL 60,000, KDV at 20% TL 12,000, total TL 72,000. Because both companies are registered users, the invoice must be an e-Fatura carrying both trade names, tax offices and VKNs. In the same month Ege Yazılım sells a TL 4,000 training session to a private customer: KDV TL 800, total TL 4,800. Since 1 January 2026, that invoice must be an e-Arşiv Fatura, however small the amount. A simple-method café that sells a TL 2,500 catering order (including taxes) in November 2026 may still use a paper invoice, but from 1 January 2027 it must issue e-Arşiv invoices too.
Common mistakes to avoid
Issuing a paper or PDF invoice
Since 2026 most taxpayers must issue e-Arşiv or e-Fatura invoices. A paper invoice issued instead carries a penalty for each document.
Using e-Arşiv for a registered e-Fatura user
Check the customer against GİB's list. Invoices between registered users must be e-Fatura.
Charging the old 18% KDV
The general rate has been 20% since 10 July 2023, and the 8% reduced rate became 10%.
Missing the tax office or VKN
The issuer's tax office and tax ID are required, and so are the customer's where they have them.
Missing the e-Fatura switch date
Crossing TL 3 million in gross sales means joining e-Fatura from the seventh month of the next year.
Invoicing Tips
- 1Before you invoice a business, check whether it is a registered e-Fatura user. GİB publishes the current list of registered users at ebelge.gib.gov.tr, and between registered users the invoice must be an e-Fatura.
- 2If your gross sales reach TL 3 million in a year, you must join e-Fatura from the start of the seventh month of the following year. For e-commerce, real estate and motor vehicle businesses, the threshold is TL 500,000.
- 3Smaller businesses can issue e-Arşiv invoices on GİB's own e-document portal instead of using a special integrator.
- 4If GİB's systems are down, or your financial seal or e-signature fails, paper is allowed temporarily as long as the legal deadline is met. Keep evidence of the outage.
- 5Use the 20% general rate, not the old 18%. The 18% rate ended on 10 July 2023.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I send a PDF invoice in Turkey?
Not as the invoice, if you are a taxpayer in Turkey. Since 1 January 2026, invoices must be issued as e-Fatura or e-Arşiv Fatura regardless of amount, apart from simple-method and business-account taxpayers, for whom this applies to invoices above TL 3,000 until the end of 2026 and to all invoices from 1 January 2027.
What is the difference between e-Fatura and e-Arşiv Fatura?
e-Fatura is used between two businesses registered in the e-Fatura system and is delivered through GİB's system. e-Arşiv Fatura is used for every other customer, such as consumers and businesses that are not registered for e-Fatura.
Who must use e-Fatura in Turkey?
Taxpayers with gross sales of TL 3 million or more (for 2022 and later years), e-commerce, real estate and motor vehicle businesses with TL 500,000 or more, and listed sectors such as fuel licence holders, hotels and healthcare providers contracted with the Social Security Institution. Others may join voluntarily.
What is the KDV rate in Turkey?
20% is the general rate and 10% the main reduced rate, both since 10 July 2023. Some goods and services fall under other rates set by presidential decision.
Can InvoiceQuickly issue e-Fatura or e-Arşiv invoices?
No. InvoiceQuickly produces English PDF invoices only. It has no connection to GİB or a special integrator and copies saved business and client tax IDs to new invoice PDFs, so it cannot issue invoices for taxpayers in Turkey.
