InvoiceQuickly + Stripe: Get Paid Faster with One-Click Invoice Payments

Add a Stripe-powered payment link to every invoice you send. Clients click, pay by card or bank transfer, and the payment is automatically reconciled in your InvoiceQuickly dashboard. No manual tracking, no chasing β€” just faster cash flow.

How It Works

1

Connect your Stripe account

Link your existing Stripe account to InvoiceQuickly in one click via Stripe Connect. No API keys or developer setup required.

2

Create an invoice

Generate an invoice as usual β€” describe your work, let AI build the invoice, or use a template.

3

Payment link auto-attaches

Every invoice automatically includes a 'Pay Now' button powered by Stripe. Clients see your branding, not ours.

4

Get paid and auto-reconcile

When the client pays, InvoiceQuickly marks the invoice as paid and updates your dashboard in real time.

Key Benefits

  • Accept credit cards, debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and bank transfers on every invoice
  • Automatic payment reconciliation β€” no manual status updates
  • Clients pay in their local currency with Stripe's multi-currency support
  • PCI-compliant payment processing without handling card data yourself
  • Reduce average payment time from 30+ days to under 5 days

Best For

  • Freelancers wanting instant card payments instead of waiting for bank transfers
  • Agencies sending high-value invoices that clients want to pay by card for cash-back rewards
  • SaaS businesses collecting recurring subscription payments alongside invoices
  • International businesses needing multi-currency payment collection

Setting it up

Setup takes about 5 minutes for businesses with an existing Stripe account, 15 minutes for new accounts. Prerequisites: a verified Stripe account (free), business verification documents (EIN/SSN, bank account), and admin access to your InvoiceQuickly workspace. From InvoiceQuickly Settings β†’ Integrations β†’ Stripe, click 'Connect with Stripe' and follow the OAuth flow. Stripe Connect handles the authorization β€” you don't paste API keys. Once connected, every new invoice automatically includes a payment link; existing draft invoices can opt-in to the new payment method retroactively.

Best practices

Use Stripe's automatic tax for multi-state US sales

Stripe Tax automatically calculates US sales tax by buyer ZIP code, EU VAT (including reverse charge for B2B), UK VAT, and Australian GST. Enable in Stripe Dashboard β†’ Tax. InvoiceQuickly applies the calculated tax to invoice line items automatically when you mark an invoice as 'subject to automatic tax.'

Enable Apple Pay and Google Pay

Stripe's payment links default to card-only. In Stripe Dashboard β†’ Settings β†’ Payment methods, enable Apple Pay and Google Pay. These convert 30-40% better on mobile than card-form-fill checkouts.

Set up dunning for failed subscription payments

If you bill recurring invoices through Stripe, configure Stripe's smart retry logic (Settings β†’ Subscriptions β†’ Smart Retries). Recovers 30-60% of failed payments without manual intervention.

Reconcile Stripe payouts in your accounting tool

Stripe payouts arrive in your bank account 2 business days after payment. The deposit equals invoice payments minus Stripe fees. Connect Stripe to QuickBooks/Xero so payouts auto-reconcile against the invoice records.

Common issues

Payment link not appearing on invoice

Check Stripe Connect status in Settings β†’ Integrations. If 'Disconnected' (typically due to expired OAuth or Stripe verification gap), reconnect via the OAuth flow. New invoices created during disconnection won't have payment links until reconnected.

Invoice marked paid but Stripe shows pending

Stripe payment confirmation can lag 30-60 seconds for some card networks. Wait 2 minutes, then refresh. If still pending after 1 hour, check Stripe Dashboard β†’ Payments for any flagged transactions (fraud review, 3DS challenge).

Customer claims they paid but no Stripe record exists

Most often means they paid via a different payment method (bank transfer, manual ACH) and the invoice's Stripe link was never used. Verify in Stripe Dashboard before disputing. If genuinely paid via Stripe, contact Stripe support β€” there's typically a webhook delivery issue.
